Become a Member

The Federation is comprised of at least 14 voting members who have been providing a united voice and point of action for issues and concerns related to all marine resources, the communities dependent on those resources and our members who harvest those resources.

Fishing communities are responsible for electing/choosing a representative/delegate to serve on the Executive Managing Committee on their behalf. They are encouraged to also elect/choose an alternate who can attend the EMC meetings with full rights when the primary delegate is absent. The alternate is welcome to attend any EMC meeting, will have a voice only and will receive compensation for out-of-pocket travel expenses.

Each community is granted one representative/delegate to the EMC except for Belize City, which is granted six representatives, meaning that Dangriga, Punta Gorda and Sarteneja are each granted two representatives due to the large number of fishers in these communities.
